About Champion Behaviours.
Champion Behaviours is a not for profit organisation, in the process of gaining Charity status, set up to deliver motivational workshops to young people aged 12-15 years old who are in danger of exclusion from school and society. We believe that every child matters and have created Champion Behaviours as a way of directly helping to re-engage disaffected young people - promoting inclusion - and improving attendance, classroom behaviour and social skills, whilst reducing crime, fear of crime and anti social behaviour in our community. Our 'value added' sessions will help schools give added value to the lives of the young people in their charge. We aim to help young people develop a sense of belonging and want to become valuable members of their community, adding to it, not simply taking from it.
We offer the workshops free of charge to schools who cannot afford to make a contribution and at a discounted rate to those who can contribute to the costs. Our primary aim is to help the children most in need it, however the sessions can be bought by schools with funds to aid the C/D borderline students to increase personal performance and effectiveness - the profit from these events will go back into funding days for the young people who are in danger of exclusion. Further, we encourage corporate clients with CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programmes to buy or sponsor days for schools in their area, giving direct benefit to the young people, the school and the community. |

As we are based in Hampshire, and have recently received funding and support from the Hampshire Police Authority, we will give preference to schools in the Hampshire County when we give days that are free at the point of delivery funded by this organisation. Please note however, that the workshops can be delivered through out the country upon request and one communications brand gave money to run workshops in a specific area of interest to them. These workshops are based on the motivational conference speech of PJ Stevens, called Champion Behaviours which encourages participants to align their behaviours with those of champions in life, business and sport. PJ is the founder of this organisation for young people, and LEAP has created the workshops, drawing on its experiences of delivering high quality team building, people development, training, conferences and facilitated programmes to clients in the UK, Europe and Middle East. The highly interactive workshops are a mix of discussions and activities, with the feedback being based on the Champions – and their behaviours - that the young participants name at the start of the day, such as Jonny Wilkinson, Kelly Holmes, Bill Gates, Valentino Rossi and Zara Phillips. As the day progresses, so does the development and ownership, culminating in an interesting and challenging finale for those who have started to show ‘champion behaviours’. It is our aim, as we raise more money, to create a series of shorter follow up sessions to create a ‘1, 2, 3…LEAP’ programme that would see students who have been successfully through the sessions, become facilitators themselves on the next set of programmes, should they wish, to further develop their skills, confidence and awareness. And finally, perhaps these young people could run a people development day, under our guidance, based on the Champion Behaviours, for their parents, guardians and local business people to show case their skills and growth. Young people are amazing and we would like them to publicise their successes, first hand. Early interventions make good business sense. It makes good social sense to invest in young people as early as possible. Once children are excluded from school and society, the costs can be enormous, as we see daily on television. Please help us, to help young people in your community to become valuable members of it. It is human nature to want to belong, so let us help young people make Champion choices to join the community and feel a sense of belonging, rather than creating their own groups and rules that can cause terrible trouble in society, and huge bills to go with it.
